Goal
Catch cases where KDS silently ignores updates due to payload mismatch.
Steps
1) Confirm KDS app version/build and compare against store server / KDS feed version.
2) If any KDS station is on a different version than others, align versions.
3) If a recent update was applied:
- Roll forward (update lagging KDS stations), or
- Roll back (if the new payload broke older clients), depending on your standard.
4) Retest with a known-new order.
5) If still failing after version alignment: - Treat as upstream feed/log issue and escalate with logs + timestamps.
Artifacts to Capture for Escalation
- Time of last order shown on KDS
- Time of newest order missing
- KDS version/build
- Whether clock/animations were updating during the failure
- Whether all stations failed or only one
