P-000024-01 Restore printing after replacing a printer

Used for Trouble: T-000024

1) Verify new printer connectivity

  • Confirm printer is powered on and connected to network or USB
  • Print network or status page to obtain current IP address
  • Verify printer responds to ping if networked

2) Install correct printer driver

  • Confirm driver matches the new printer model
  • Remove old printer driver if no longer needed
  • Install approved vendor driver only

3) Update printer definition in Windows

  • Open Devices and Printers
  • Create or update printer using the new IP or connection
  • Set correct port and verify printer name

4) Update application printer configuration

  • Open POS / CSC printer settings
  • Reassign orders to the new printer definition
  • Ensure old printer references are removed

5) Verify print language and profile

  • Confirm correct print language (e.g. ESC/POS)
  • Select correct printer profile in application
  • Avoid default or generic profiles

6) Restart services

  • Restart Windows Print Spooler
  • Restart POS / CSC application services
  • Allow services to fully initialize

7) Test printing

  • Print Windows test page
  • Send a live test order
  • Confirm orders print correctly

8) Escalation check

  • If printing still fails:
  • Review application logs
  • Verify printer initialization requirements
  • Escalate to application or hardware support
