T-000006 – Receipt Printer Prints Blank Receipts
Purpose
Restore correct printing when receipts are blank by verifying the printer driver and emulation settings.

Preconditions
- POS is operational
- Printer feeds paper normally
- Server is reachable via terminal
Steps
- Log into the store server as hds.
- Open the CUPS web interface (http://localhost:631).
- Navigate to Printers and select the affected receipt printer.
- Review the printer model and driver.
- Confirm the driver matches the physical printer model.
- Check printer emulation mode (ESC/POS is required).
- If emulation is incorrect, update the printer driver to the correct ESC/POS driver.
- Save changes and restart the printer from CUPS.
- Print a test receipt from CUPS.
Expected Result
Receipt prints correctly with readable text.
Escalation
If output is still blank, verify printer firmware or replace the printer.
