Purpose
Identify and remove duplicate printer definitions that cause multiple receipts to print.

Preconditions

• POS is operational
• Printer is printing duplicates consistently

Steps

1. Log into the store server as hds.
2. Open the printer configuration interface (CUPS).
3. Review the list of configured printers.
4. Identify duplicate entries pointing to the same physical printer.
5. Disable or remove the duplicate printer configuration.
6. Verify the printer is assigned to only one station or role.
7. Restart the print service:
   sudo systemctl restart cups
8. Wait 10 seconds.

Validation

• Send a single test order
• Confirm only one receipt prints

Notes
If duplicates continue after removal, escalate for application-level resend or network retry review.
