1) Verify paper feed and sensors

  • Open printer cover and inspect paper path
  • Ensure paper feeds smoothly without resistance
  • Check paper-out or cover sensors are not triggering falsely

2) Check printer buffer and memory

  • Power-cycle printer to clear buffer
  • Avoid sending large or complex tickets during testing
  • Disable logos or heavy formatting temporarily

3) Verify network or USB stability

  • Reseat USB or Ethernet cable
  • Replace cable if intermittent
  • Avoid shared hubs or unstable switch ports

4) Inspect printer driver and firmware

  • Confirm correct driver is installed
  • Update firmware if vendor recommends
  • Reboot printer after updates

5) Check power stability

  • Ensure printer is connected to a stable power source
  • Avoid loose power strips
  • Test with a known-good outlet or UPS

6) Review application print formatting

  • Confirm ticket length does not exceed limits
  • Check for malformed print commands
  • Test with simplified ticket template

7) Test controlled prints
