1) Check available disk space
- Open system disk properties
- Confirm free space is available on system drive
- Pay special attention to temp and spool directories
2) Clear temporary files
- Delete contents of system temp directory
- Clear user temp folders if applicable
- Avoid deleting required system files
3) Check print spooler storage
- Stop Print Spooler service
- Navigate to spool directory
- Delete stuck or old spool files
- Restart Print Spooler service
4) Review application log growth
- Locate POS / CSC log directories
- Identify large or unrotated log files
- Archive or truncate logs if safe to do so
5) Check application cache usage
- Review cache directories used by application
- Clear cache if supported
- Restart application services after cleanup
6) Monitor disk usage
- Observe disk usage over time
- Identify processes generating excessive files
- Implement log rotation or cleanup schedule if needed
7) Test printing
- Send test print jobs
- Confirm orders print normally
- Monitor spooler behavior
8) Escalation check
- If disk fills repeatedly:
- Identify root cause of disk growth
- Review system monitoring or alerts
- Escalate to systems or application support
