1) Confirm whether duplicates are system or user generated

  • Ask staff if reprint was pressed
  • Check if duplicates are identical or time-separated
  • Identify affected order types only

2) Verify printer mappings

  • Open POS / CSC printer configuration
  • Confirm each order type is mapped to only one printer
  • Remove any duplicate or fallback mappings

3) Check application retry behavior

  • Review logs for timeout or resend messages
  • Identify network delays triggering retries
  • Ensure retry logic does not resend print jobs blindly

4) Inspect printer buffer behavior

  • Power-cycle printer to clear buffer
  • Test printing again after restart
  • Observe whether duplicates recur

5) Check print queue and spooler

  • Open printer queue
  • Ensure jobs are not stuck or retrying
  • Restart Print Spooler if queue behaves unexpectedly

6) Verify network stability

  • Check for packet loss or intermittent drops
  • Test continuous ping to printer
  • Resolve instability before retesting
