T-000007 – Receipt Printer Prints Blank Receipts
Purpose
Restore correct printing when receipts are blank by verifying the printer driver and emulation settings.

Preconditions
- POS is operational
- Printer feeds paper normally
- Network or USB connection is stable
Steps
- Log into the store server as hds.
- Open the CUPS web interface:
http://localhost:631 - Select Printers → choose the affected receipt printer.
- Open Administration → Modify Printer.
- Verify the printer model and driver:
• Prefer manufacturer-specific ESC/POS driver
• Avoid “Generic Text Only” unless required - Confirm emulation mode matches printer capability (ESC/POS).
- Save changes and apply configuration.
- Print a test receipt from CUPS.
- Confirm text prints correctly (not blank).
Result
Receipts print normally with visible text.
